Royal Lithography and Legacy

An exhibition showcasing the most comprehensive display of Lithographs from the Ravi Varma Press of the paintings by the artist. On display were 131 rare and exquisite lithographs printed between 1894 and 1930. The display was accompanied with explanatory notes and references. This exhibition was visited by more than 10,000 art lovers, aesthetes, aficionados and academicians.

The opening ceremony at National Gallery For Modern Art, Bengaluru, was inaugurated by Chief Guest, former Chief Justice of India, M N Venkatachaliah.

Rupika Chawla, author of 'Raja Ravi Varma: Painter of Colonial India' was the guest of honour. She also conducted an outreach programme the day after the formal inaugural of the exhibition, that was attended by an audience full of RRV enthusiasts.
